让孩子学习中文——这也许是您为孩子做出的最有远见的决定之一。在全球化日益加深的今天，掌握中文不仅意味着多一项技能，更意味着多一种看待世界的视角，多一座连接两种文化的桥梁。而对于华裔家庭的孩子来说，学习中文还有一层更深远的意义：它是一种身份的确认，是寻找”我从哪里来”的旅程。
我们深知，孩子的成长离不开家庭的支持。语言学习尤其如此——一周两个小时的课堂时间远远不够。孩子在家的每一天，您的一次鼓励、一次陪伴、一次不经意的中文对话，都是学习的一部分。这就是为什么我们不仅仅把您称为”家长”，而是视为我们最重要的教育伙伴。
在接下来的学期里，您可能会遇到一些挑战：孩子说”不想去中文学校”、作业太难、进步不如预期……这都是正常的。请相信——每一条学习曲线都有起伏，但坚持本身就是最宝贵的教育。当有一天，您的孩子能用流利的中文和远在中国的祖父母聊天，能自信地站上朗诵比赛的舞台，您会知道——所有的坚持，都值得。

Dear Parents,
Welcome to the CCCCA Chinese School family.
Choosing to give your child the gift of Chinese language — this may be one of the most far-sighted decisions you make as a parent. In an increasingly interconnected world, knowing Chinese means more than an additional skill. It means another lens through which to see the world, another bridge between two cultures. And for children of Chinese heritage, learning the language carries an even deeper significance: it is an affirmation of identity, a journey to understand “where I come from.”
We know that a child’s growth is inseparable from family support. Language learning especially — two hours of class per week is never enough. Every day at home, every word of encouragement from you, every casual conversation in Chinese, every moment you spend reading a Chinese picture book together — all of it is part of the learning. This is why we don’t just call you “parents.” We see you as our most essential educational partners.
In the semester ahead, you may encounter challenges: your child says “I don’t want to go to Chinese school,” the homework feels too hard, progress seems slower than expected. This is all normal. Believe in this — every learning curve has its dips, but persistence itself is the most valuable lesson. One day, when your child chats fluently in Chinese with grandparents across the ocean, when she stands confidently on a recitation stage — you will know: it was all worth it.

🕘 准时到校
中文： 请提前 10 分钟到校。迟到不仅影响学生本人的学习，也会打断课堂节奏。如因特殊情况迟到，请安静进入教室，避免打扰其他同学。
English: Please arrive 10 minutes early. Late arrivals disrupt not only the late student but the entire class rhythm. If late for unavoidable reasons, please enter quietly.
📚 家庭练习
中文： 建议每天安排 15-20 分钟的中文家庭练习时间——可以是复习当天学的内容、完成作业、读一本中文绘本，或只是用中文聊聊今天发生的事。关键是坚持，而不是突击。语言的进步就像植物生长——你看不出它每天长了多少，但一个月后回头看，已经不一样了。
English: We recommend 15-20 minutes of daily Chinese practice at home — reviewing the day’s lesson, completing homework, reading a Chinese picture book, or simply chatting about the day in Chinese. Consistency matters far more than cramming. Language progress is like a plant growing — you may not notice daily changes, but look back after a month and it’s a different picture.
🍎 饮食与安全
中文： 教室内禁止饮食（饮用水除外）。请确保孩子在上课前吃好早餐或午餐。如学生有过敏史或特殊医疗需求，请在开学第一天书面告知老师——孩子的安全是我们的首要关切。
English: No food or drink in classrooms (water permitted). Please ensure your child has eaten before class. If your child has allergies or medical needs, inform the teacher in writing on the first day — student safety is our highest priority.
📵 电子设备
中文： 上课期间学生不得使用手机、平板电脑或电子游戏设备（课堂学习需要除外）。如确实需要携带手机以便课后联系，请设置为静音并放在书包内。
English: No phones, tablets, or gaming devices during class (unless required for learning activities). If your child needs a phone for after-class contact, keep it silenced and in their bag.
🚗 接送安全
中文： 请家长在下课后 15 分钟内接走孩子。如委托他人接送，请提前书面或通过班级微信群告知老师。为保障所有学生的安全，我们不会让孩子跟随未经授权的成年人离开校园。
English: Please pick up your child within 15 minutes after class. If someone else is picking up, notify the teacher in advance (written note or class WeChat group). For the safety of all students, we will not release children to unauthorized adults.
📋 请假制度
中文： 如需请假，请提前 24 小时通过班级微信群或邮件通知老师。如遇突发情况无法提前请假（生病、紧急事件等），请在当天上课前尽快通知。老师会将缺课的课堂内容和作业发送给家长。
English: If your child will be absent, please notify the teacher at least 24 hours in advance via the class WeChat group or email. For unexpected absences (illness, emergencies), notify as soon as possible before class starts. The teacher will send the missed lesson content and homework to parents.
👔 着装要求
中文： 无严格着装规定，但建议穿着舒适整洁的衣服和适合室内活动的鞋子。文化课程（民族舞、太极）请根据课程要求着装（老师会在开学时告知）。
English: No strict dress code. Comfortable, neat clothing and indoor-appropriate shoes are recommended. Cultural classes (folk dance, Tai Chi) may have specific attire requirements — the teacher will inform you at the start of the semester.
📊 家长会 · Parent Meetings
中文：
每学期初举办一次家长会，介绍本学期课程安排、教学目标和重要日期。这是了解孩子将要学习什么、与老师面对面交流的最佳机会。
English:
A parent meeting is held at the beginning of each semester to introduce the curriculum, learning objectives, and key dates. This is the best opportunity to understand what your child will learn and to connect with teachers face-to-face.
📱 班级沟通 · Class Communication
中文：
每个班级设有微信群，老师会在群里发布每周教学内容、家庭作业和学校通知。也欢迎家长在群里分享孩子的学习点滴。请注意群内交流保持友善和建设性——我们都是同一个目标：让孩子变得更好。
English:
Each class has a WeChat group where teachers share weekly lesson content, homework, and school announcements. Parents are welcome to share their children’s learning moments. Please keep group interactions kind and constructive — we are all here for the same goal: helping our children thrive.
👐 义工机会 · Volunteer Opportunities
中文：
CCCCA 完全依靠志愿者运转，家长的参与是我们最宝贵的资源。您可以参与：
- 课堂助教： 协助老师管理课堂、辅导学生
- 活动协助： 帮助筹备文化主题活动（春节、中秋等）
- 行政支持： 前台值班、翻译、资料整理
- 摄影/宣传： 为活动拍照、撰写通讯稿
无论您能投入多少时间，总有一个角色适合您。参与义工活动不仅是支持学校，更是给孩子树立了”服务社区”的榜样。

CCCCA runs entirely on volunteers — parental involvement is our most valuable resource. You can participate through:
- Classroom Assistance: Help teachers manage activities and tutor students
- Event Support: Help organize cultural theme activities
- Administrative Help: Front desk duty, translation, document organization
- Photography & Communications: Event photography, newsletter writing
However much time you can offer, there is a role for you. Volunteering not only supports the school — it models the value of community service for your child.
🎓 家长开放日 · Parent Open Day
中文：
每个学期末举办家长开放日，邀请所有家长进入教室，观看孩子的学习成果展示。这是孩子一个学期努力的结晶——他们准备节目、展示作品、朗读作文。请您一定来。对孩子来说，有你在场，就是最好的鼓励。
English:
Every semester ends with a Parent Open Day. All parents are invited into the classroom to see their children’s learning showcase — performances, artwork displays, essay readings. This is the culmination of a semester’s hard work. Please come. For your child, your presence is the greatest encouragement of all.

CCCCA 中文学校为非营利教育机构，将尽最大努力确保学生在校期间的安全。所有教师和义工均经过背景审查。如学生在校期间发生意外伤害或财产损失，校方将立即通知家长并协助处理。

CCCCA Chinese School is a nonprofit educational institution that takes every reasonable measure to ensure student safety during school hours. All teachers and volunteers undergo background checks. In the event of an injury or property loss during school hours, the school will immediately notify parents and provide assistance.
Waiver Summary: Parents/guardians must sign the Activity Waiver during registration. By signing, you acknowledge that you assume responsibility for injuries or property loss occurring during school hours that are not due to gross negligence on the part of the school. Please refer to the full waiver document in the registration form.
